Professional Painters in Charlotte, NC
Delivering clean worksites, meticulous preparation, and durable finishes to property owners in Charlotte.
Serving Homeowners & Businesses in Charlotte
Brushworks Painting works across the city itself, from the older neighborhoods ringing uptown out to the newer construction filling every edge of it. Charlotte has never been one housing stock. A 1920s bungalow in Dilworth, a brick cottage in Elizabeth, a mill house in NoDa, and a 2019 townhouse in South End all sit within a few miles of each other, and none of them want the same preparation or the same product once you are actually up against the wall.
The older stretches closer to the center carry real wood siding, wood windows, and deep porches that reward patient prep and punish a rushed coat. Several of those neighborhoods also sit inside local historic districts, where a color change on the outside needs approval before anyone opens a lid. Austin handles the estimate himself, tells you which elevations actually need work this year, and will say plainly if your house needs a different trade before it needs a painter.

Professional Services in Charlotte
Interior and exterior painting, cabinet refinishing, and staining for homes across Charlotte. Austin quotes and runs every one of them himself.

Interior Painting
Crisp cut lines, furniture and floors properly covered, and your house put back together every evening before we leave.

Exterior Painting
Washed, scraped, and caulked before a drop of paint goes on, because prep is what decides how long an exterior lasts here.

Cabinet Painting
Doors sprayed off site in a controlled setting, boxes finished in place, and a kitchen you can still use most of the week.

Deck & Fence Staining
Cleaned, brightened, and sanded before staining, with the stain worked into the grain rather than laid on top of it.

Premium Painting Services in the Charlotte
Austin grew up watching his dad run his own company, and that planted the idea that he would build something of his own one day. He came into painting through the sales side, learned the trade end to end, and kept noticing the same thing: the whole industry felt rigid and joyless. He and his wife Dakotah moved to Charlotte, fell for the city, and decided this was where they wanted to put down roots and build something that lasts. Their faith is the foundation of how they run it, and in practice that means honesty about what your home actually needs, care taken with it, and a real interest in the people who live there.

Charlotte Painting FAQs
Only if your house sits in one of the city local historic districts, which require a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic District Commission before exterior work. Those districts are Fourth Ward, Dilworth, Plaza Midwood, and Wesley Heights. If you are in one, build that approval into the schedule before the work is booked. Everywhere else in the city there is no approval to get, though an HOA may still have something to say.
Quite a lot. Original wood siding and wood windows move with the seasons, so the caulk joints and the glazing matter more than the field of the wall. Anything built before 1978 may carry lead paint, which changes how the work area is contained and cleaned rather than whether the job can be done. And the trim profiles on these houses are worth cutting by hand rather than masking, because those lines are what you notice from the sidewalk.
Both. A good share of our work sits in the older neighborhoods ringing the center, where the siding is wood and the preparation is most of the job. We also work the newer construction further out, where the failure points are the joints and the caulk lines instead of the field of the wall. Call (980) 224-2995 and we will tell you straight whether your house is a good fit for the time of year.
It is worth planning and we plan it. Streets in the older neighborhoods are tight, several run one way, and some houses have no driveway to stage from. We work off the smallest footprint we can, keep the sidewalk clear, and if the only route is a street permit or a word with a neighbor we will tell you before the first day rather than on it.
A typical house in these neighborhoods runs about five to nine working days once the weather cooperates. Wood siding with a lot of scraping and glazing takes the long end of that, and brick with painted trim takes the short end. Rain days push the schedule, and we tell you as soon as we know rather than leaving you to wonder.
Sun and water, mostly. West and south facing walls take the UV and go first, and anything under a mature canopy stays damp and grows the algae you see streaking siding all over the city. It is completely normal for one or two elevations to need attention several years before the rest of the house does, and that is usually a much smaller project than people expect.
