Company Background
Austin grew up watching his dad run his own company, and that planted the idea that he would build something of his own one day. He came into painting through the sales side, learned the trade end to end, and kept noticing the same thing: the whole industry felt rigid and joyless. He and his wife Dakotah moved to Charlotte, fell for the city, and decided this was where they wanted to put down roots and build something that lasts. Their faith is the foundation of how they run it, and in practice that means honesty about what your home actually needs, care taken with it, and a real interest in the people who live there.
Founded in 2025, Brushworks Painting serves the Charlotte, NC area under the leadership of Austin Heidig, Owner.

Common Questions
How do estimates work, and what do they cost?
Estimates are free and there is no obligation attached to one. Austin comes out, looks at the actual surfaces, asks what you are hoping for, and sends a written quote that breaks out what is included. If your project is not a good fit for us, we will tell you that instead of quoting it anyway.
What areas do you serve?
We work across the Greater Charlotte Area and surrounding communities. If you are not sure whether your address falls inside that, call (980) 224-2995 and ask. We would rather answer honestly than have you guess.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes. Every project carries our 100% workmanship warranty, and a satisfaction guarantee alongside it: the crew does not leave until you are happy with the work. We also honor the extended warranties available through Sherwin-Williams on eligible products.
What paint do you use?
We work with Sherwin-Williams and specify the product to the surface rather than using one line for everything. Trim takes a different enamel than walls, bathrooms need a moisture rated finish, and exteriors in this climate need something built for humidity and UV.
How soon can you start?
It depends on the season. May through July is our busiest stretch and books out furthest; winter usually moves faster. Call (980) 224-2995 and you will get a current lead time the same day rather than a vague answer.
How long will my project take?
It depends on the scope. A single room is usually a day or two, a whole house interior runs about four to seven working days, and a cabinet kitchen is five to seven. Your written quote carries the schedule before anything starts, and if weather or a job running long moves it, you hear that from us rather than having to ask.
Do I need to be home while you work?
That is up to you. Plenty of clients leave a key or a garage code and go to work. We will send updates as the project moves, and we walk the finished work with you in person before calling it done.
What makes Brushworks Painting different from the other quotes I am getting?
Honestly, communication. We show up when we say we will, we do not disappear mid project, and there are no fees that appear after the quote. We are a husband and wife team who actually enjoy this work, and we would rather the whole thing feel easy than win a job by being the pushiest person who came to your door.

Local Context
Painting in the Charlotte area means planning around real local conditions. Charlotte sees long humid summers, heavy spring pollen, afternoon storms that soak and dry siding repeatedly, and algae on shaded walls under mature street trees. South Charlotte sees long humid summers, heavy spring pollen, frequent afternoon thunderstorms, strong summer UV on west facing walls, and algae and mildew growth on shaded north facing siding. Matthews sees long humid summers, heavy spring pollen, afternoon thunderstorms, freeze and thaw cycles that work caulk joints loose, and mildew on shaded siding. Indian Trail sees long humid summers, heavy spring pollen, afternoon thunderstorms, and strong sun on the open west facing walls of lots with few mature trees. Waxhaw sees long humid summers, heavy spring pollen, afternoon thunderstorms, strong UV on unshaded lots, and mildew on the shaded side of fences and porch posts. Weddington sees long humid summers, heavy spring pollen, afternoon thunderstorms, and mature tree cover that keeps siding and trim damp and encourages algae on shaded elevations. Huntersville sees long humid summers, afternoon storms, heavy spring pollen, algae on shaded north facing walls, and stronger sun exposure on the open lots in the newer neighborhoods. Mooresville sees long humid summers, strong unbroken sun on water facing walls, wind driven rain off open water, heavy spring pollen, and algae on shaded elevations. These factors drive Brushworks Painting's emphasis on thorough surface preparation, premium coatings from Sherwin-Williams, and its 100% workmanship warranty.
